Conditions We Care For
When facing surgery as a treatment option rely on Dr. Barrios’ three tiered approach to care: The best tools, surgical mastery, and treating people the way you’d want to be treated.
Hernias
By choosing minimally invasive robotic surgery you are choosing faster healing, lower risk of incisional hernia occurrence, less time in the hospital, less pain postoperatively, and a faster return to normal activities.
Gall Bladder Disease
Most often, to alleviate symptoms and prevent them from recurring, surgery is required. This procedure is called a cholecystectomy, or gallbladder removal. Dr. Barrios is proficient in performing this procedure laparoscopically and proudly offers Lafayette and the surrounding Acadiana region the opportunity for a minimally invasive approach.
Skin Cancer or Lesions
There are two primary goals when patients have concerning lesions or moles. We want to identify it and test it thoroughly to determine if it has spread and remove anything cancerous.
Lipomas
When a lipomas is causing you pain or discomfort based on the size and location Dr. Barrios can remove it. Some smaller lipomas can be removed in the office under local anesthesia. For larger lipomas or those located in highly sensitive areas, an minimally invasive outpatient surgical setting may be recommended.
Cysts
Remove the cyst and associated pain along with it. Dr. Barrios is equipped to provide treatment options ranging from in-office treatment using local anesthetic to quick out-patient surgery.
